The Arizona Mountaineering Club is involved with many land advocacy issues across the state of Arizona. Our Land Advocacy Committee is charged with working on large access issues. Currently, these are the main focus of our Land Advocacy:

McDowell Mountains

The AMC has been involved with the City of Scottsdale in developing a Rock Climbing Plan and Climbing Management Plan for the traditional rock climbing crags in what is now known as the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Currently this includes all of the climbing south of Rio Verde/Dynamite Roads. A draft rock climbing plan was presented to climbers on 26th January 2009.
